Stitches and Sad News

We are getting all behind with our blogging – just too much going on in Real Life.  Dora has been running around at 100 miles per hour, completely untroubled by her spay surgery last week or her stitches.  She followed up the eating of my mobile phone charger by stealing half a joint of beef from the top of the cooker hob and dragging it across the floor to her food dish…

As you can see, she has a large patch of shaved furs from her surgery, but I am sure they will grow back soon.  She is going back to the v-e-t tomorrow for a check-up and to have her stitches taken out.  It’s amazing that she has left her stitches alone, considering that she chews everything else!

Tomorrow her Uncle Sim from Montana and Auntie Jan are coming to stay for a week.  They haven’t met Dora yet – she will probably find it very exciting to have visitors.  I hope they don’t leave their phone chargers lying around!

We have had some family sadness in the last week.  Cornish Grandma (my mum) had to say goodbye to her Scottie dog, Barney.  He was 13 and had been with her since he was a puppy, but he developed liver cancer and had to go to the Bridge.  Barney was a good dog who loved cats (even though Eric didn’t appreciate being licked by the dog when they met) and his favourite thing was to go to the beach.  Cornish Grandma and Cornish Auntie are very sad, please send some purrs in their direction.

Miss Dora has blossomed into a true Tortie Terror! Fancy getting after the beef. She’s learned that when one is adorable, one gets away with doing naughty things. We look forward to reading about her next adventure and sincerely hope the Royal Doulton has been removed for safety purposes.
